FAQ

What is Kaos?

Kaos is a peer-to-peer electronic cash. Peer-to-peer (P2P) means that there is no central authority to issue new credits or keep track of transactions. Instead, these tasks are managed collectively by the nodes of the network.

What are units and credits?

A unit is the smallest base denomination in the system. One credit is equal to exactly one million units. To simplfy this it is often better to refer to fractional credits, such as Alice sending Bob 10.25 credits.

What is a Quantum Computer?

A quantum computer is an system that harnesses the laws of quantum physics to solve complex mathematical problems faster than traditional computers.

What does Post Quantum mean?

Post-quantum means protecting your digital secrets from powerful quantum computers.

How does Kaos work?

Kaos uses Post Quantum public key cryptography to assign ownership to an amount of credits. Credits are stored in the system with an assigned address which represents the owner. When credits are transferred they are signed-over to the recipient address.

Is Kaos anonymous?

The Aurora chain is pseudonymous but not anonymous. The Midnight chain aims to be untraceable but not anonymous. Being anonymous is not something a single system can provide because anonymity is not a property of a single layer; it is a state that depends on the sum of a user's operational security (OpSec) and network metadata.
